As of today, the Home Office has announced that a new Global Entry scheme will allow easier and quicker entry clearance for British Citizens looking to travel to the US.

The scheme will enable visitors who successfully undergo security checks to pass through airports swiftly, without the need to go through Customs and Border Protection, or complete a customers declaration form. It is believed that this will significantly reduce the travel time for individuals going through US airports.

It is anticipated that the scheme will foster greater trade and tourism between the two nations and make the over travel experience more pleasant for the estimate 4million annual visitors to the US from Britain.

To gain access to the scheme, individuals will be required to pay a fee of £42 to the Home Office and a further $100 to CBP. This will entitle a person membership for five years, during which time they can gain access to all US airports via Global Entry automated kiosks and dedicated lanes.
